CCASA Restorative Justice (RJ) to Address Sexual Violence Project Application (2021-2022)

'CCASA Restorative Justice (RJ) to Address Sexual Violence Project Application

The Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault is excited to announce our Restorative Justice to Address Sexual Violence Project. The goal of our project is to support four communities across Colorado to plan and work toward implementing a community specific RJ project. Participants will learn about RJ frameworks and practices, explore needs within their community, plan a RJ project and work toward implementation. Selected groups will participate in educational sessions, work groups, and have the opportunity for consultation with RJ experts.

Each group must commit to at least one representative at 3 educational sessions and 3 work groups. The project will culminate in two presentations on the community specific project. Applicants for this program must show a commitment to addressing sexual violence within their community. Each cohort will be expected to fully take part in the entire program through June 2022. The project includes:

●     3 educational meetings between November 2021 and April 2022

●     3 work sessions between November 2021 and April 2022

●     Project presentations to the RJ group and larger community.

●     One on one consultation time with restorative justice experts as needed.

This project will take place virtually.

Restorative Justice Project Application (2021-2022)

At least one CCASA member agency that currently addresses sexual violence in Colorado must be part of the application. Other partner agencies do not need to be CCASA members. You need a minimum of 2 community partners (see more below) and minimum of four individuals participating in the projects from the community partner agencies.   Other partner agencies:   We require a total of 3 organizations/agencies/communities in the application, including one CCASA member. We highly encourage marginalized community organizations to apply. If you are not an agency working with one of these populations, we highly encourage you to partner with one.  Potential partner agencies could include organizations or practitioners doing restorative justice work, immigration organizations, colleges/universities, agencies that work with youth, faith-based communities, LGBTQ and other organizations with marginalized representation.

Narrative Questions: Hide Please have each partner agency answer the following questions. If any of the agencies are unable to answer the questions separately, please work together on the questions with partner contributions. We want to ensure that we are hearing the voices of all partners in this application.
1. Please describe your partnerships.  How long have you had a relationship with each others and how have you engaged in collaboration previously? How do your partnerships collaborate to engage marginalized populations? How do your mission, vision and values overlap? *
2. Please describe the collective understanding and readiness of restorative justice. Include each partnership's varying levels of understanding and readiness to implement RJ. What about your community's larger understanding? *
3. Why do you want to work toward implementing a restorative justice project in your community? *
4. Does your group have a vision or dream for what restorative justice could look like in your community? Please describe. *
5. How does anti-oppression work fit into the existing work that you do to address sexual violence and how can you see it being integrated into the RJ work you plan to develop through this project? *
6. Please describe how partners address or interact with sexual violence.  Even if an agency does not directly address sexual violence as its mission, comment on how the partner may interact with survivors, experience its impact, and partner with others who do. How is the work survivor/community centered and trauma informed? *
