Series Description

Our 4th Annual Sexual Assault Advocate Training Institute (SAATI) provides 26* of the 30 training hours necessary to meet statutory requirements for advocate privilege. This year SAATI will be offered virtually. 

The Sexual Assault Advocate Training Institute (SAATI) is designed for staff at community- and campus-based sexual and domestic violence advocacy programs. It is also appropriate for staff at law enforcement and district attorney's victim assistance programs. 

SAATI will increase participants' knowledge and skills to support survivors of sexual assault as well as provide participants with information and tools to bring back to their agency to train other staff and volunteers.

SAATI covers core topics, including:

• sexual assault dynamics and effects
• culturally responsive crisis intervention and advocacy
• medical options
• criminal justice options
• civil legal options

 

Cost:

CCASA Members: Registration is free

Partner/Complimentary: Registration is free

Non-members: Registration is $200

Waitlist: Because attendance is limited, priority will be given to CCASA members. Additionally, only one member from each member agency will be added to the registration list. Non-members and any additional member staff persons interested in the training will be placed on a waitlist. We will be in touch with notification of waitlist status. Non-members will not be invoiced until attendance is confirmed.

Please note, we can only guarantee accommodations for registrations submitted before August 26th, 2022. Any request made after August 26th, 2022 cannot be guaranteed but every effort will be made to accommodate those requests.

*We recommend the remaining 4 hours include agency- and community-specific information, such as agency policies and procedures, community resources, coordinated community response, etc.

**Schedule will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9am-3pm, but end time may vary from day to day. Come prepared to do individual work as well as trainer-led activities. Detailed schedule to come.
