Description

Dual/multi-service providers, particularly those in rural communities, struggle to meet the unique needs of survivors of sexual violence. However, they also possess unique potential to provide excellent sexual violence services. The Sexual Assault Demonstration Initiative (SADI) was the first large-scale project to address the challenges dual/multi-service programs face in reaching survivors of sexual violence.  This webinar will share the lessons learned from the SADI about the organizational changes dual/multi-service programs can make to meaningfully serve survivors of sexual violence.

Valerie Davis has been part of the anti-violence movement since 1995 and currently works with the Resource Sharing Project providing training and technical assistance to state coalitions and rural dual-service programs across the country on issues related to creating sustainable services for survivors of sexual violence. Valerie holds a master’s degree in Public Administration, with a concentration in domestic violence, from the University of Colorado Denver.  Prior to her work with the RSP, Valerie worked as an advocate and Program Director for a dual domestic violence and sexual assault program within a larger multi-service agency for fifteen years. Over the course of her career in the anti-violence movement, Valerie has been responsible for program development, supervision and mentoring of staff and volunteers, ensuring quality services, grant management, sustainability, community partnerships, training, and direct service.
